Studio56, associated as ‘the Asian building’, gains an extra dimension with the addition of a water system that channels waste rice water into a feature wall of the building. Rice water being poured out of the windows flows down the façade before distributing itself towards the plants.


The apartment building is often associated with a comment of “Oh! That Asian building!” because Asians are often walking in and out of the building. It is a quiet corridor, but it gets exciting when it comes to meal times. As rice is almost an essential part of the asian culture meals, the scent of rice runs through the building in the evenings.
